The highlight of this hanger is from a beautiful old necklace of mother-of-pearl beads. While the style of jewelry was predictably outdated, the beads were lovely and begged to be out of their dark storage box. This animal-made gem lines the living chambers where pearls are born, and the parent shell is as beautiful in its own way as the infant pearl. In this piece, our mother-of-pearl has fostered an unlikely child. The sharp sparkles of Swarovski ruby crystals complement and contrast favorably with the soft glow if the main bead.
